Ever heard of Vivian Maier? She died a couple of years ago, leaving behind a huge body of work that was discovered only by accident. More than 100,000 photos taken over the course of a creative life lived in secret. Maier supported herself as a nanny, living in one room. But on a Sunday she transformed into an amazing street photographer.

The video below touches on just how extraordinary she was, yet I’m saddened to think that her work was not appreciated when she lived … because she never brought her photos out into the world. You can learn more about her at www.vivianmaier.com/ or in her biography at amazon.ca.
